Donald Ross is Of Counsel with Haltom & Doan. He is a retired justice from the Texas Sixth District Court of Appeals in Texarkana, having served on that court for ten years. Before that, Donald served as District Judge of the Fourth Judicial District Court of Rusk County, Texas for fourteen years. He also served as the County/District Attorney of Rusk County for ten years.
Donald is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of Texas and the federal courts of the Eastern District of Texas. He also holds a certificate in Mediation from the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada. Donald has lectured lawyers and paralegals on the topic of legal ethics, and has given lectures to the Texas Court Reporters Association and the Texas Association of Counties.
Donald received his Juris Doctor degree from Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in 1970. He also holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Baylor University. He served two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand.
