Early Responsibility
Because of our size and the complexity of our cases, haltom & doan offers associates the unique opportunity of immediate involvement in all aspects of litigation. Not viewed as exclusively research and drafting attorneys, our associates are quickly thrust into the role of trial lawyer. Taking depositions, presenting arguments at hearings, negotiating settlements at mediation, and participating in trials are the rule rather than the exception.
Licensure
As a regional firm located in the corner of four states, haltom & doan is uniquely situated to provide legal counsel to clients throughout the region. Consequently, our attorneys are licensed to practice law in a minimum of two states. Not only does this position our firm to meet our clients’ needs in an increasingly mobile and technologically diverse society, but increases the professional credentials of the individual attorney. To acknowledge this value to haltom & doan and our clients, we pay the necessary costs for associates to become licensed in an additional state, including the costs of a review course or materials, travel expenses and time for preparation. On top of this, a bonus is provided for an associate’s successful licensure to practice law in a second state.

As professional, continuing legal education is not only mandatory as a licensure matter but also vitally important to our clients, haltom & doan pays for all registration fees and necessary expenses in connection with CLE that is beneficial to our practice. We also consider active participation in professional associations, such as Texas Young Lawyers Association, to be vital to your professional development. The firm pays for membership dues in all such approved organizations.
As members of a community, involvement in the areas civic efforts is equally important. We pay for the membership dues associated with your active involvement in a local civic club, such as Kiwanis or Rotary International.
